ASB Showgrounds host Porn Promo Sleaze and Steve Crow’s Insolvent Erotica Expo

The Society has raised serious concerns directly with ASB Showgrounds CEO Mark Frankham and his management team over their decision to allow the venue to be hired by an insolvent hardcore porn promo company – Erotica Expo Ltd – that was placed into liquidation on 27 May 2009 under the name Malibu Media Ltd. In a hostile move designed to stiffle freedom of expression, its former director Porn King Steve Crow threatens to throw any person out of the porn sleaze ASB venue who dares to record any image using a camera, video or pxt phone; and threatens to strip them of any electronic device film/memory card, should such images be recorded. The Society’s letter has yet to be answered by the management board which the Society has been informed has met to consider its concerns and will do so again on Monday next week. Management will be aware that it is a serious breach of the Companies Act 1993 for a company director to attempt to carry on trading when his company is in liquidation and/or use the name of an unregistered company for the purposes of trading. The ASB Showgrounds in Auckland has allowed a failed hardcore porn company that has been declared insolvent and consequently placed into liquidation on 27 May 2009, to organise a three-day porn promotion sleaze event where all cameras, videos and ptx phones are banned.

Any person[s] found within the venue taking video or still images will immediately be thrown out from the porn fest says big boss Porn King Stephen Peter Crow (Steve Crow) and all images recorded will be forcibly removed.
The Society is asking: Why has ASB Showgrounds management allowed a company in liquidation to enter into such an arrangement? Some media commentators predict it will attract no more than a few hundred people with a sexual dysfunction or those seeking titillation from porn sleaze and extravagantly priced sex toys or seeking AIDS for the impotent or promiscuous.
Liquidator, Lloyd Hayward of Accountants Meltzer Mason and Heath, in his report dated 3 June 2009 and available on the Companies website, states that Malibu Media Ltd (In Liq) (formerly Erotica Expo Ltd) owes unsecured creditors and shareholders $145,665 and $18,649 to IRD. He reports that the company Steve Crow directed failed mainly because of very poor attendances at the most recent Erotica Lifestyles Expos held in Wellington and Christchurch (see Co. No. 1275425 www.companies.govt.nz). These debts together with those of three other porn companies that were directed by Steve Crow, all of which have been placed into liquidation, amount to over 1.3 million dollars. The Liquidator has confirmed that there is nothing left for creditors.
Currently there is no registered company by the name “Erotica Expo Ltd”. Crow changed the name of the company he directed – Erotica Expo Ltd (Co. No.1275425) – to Malibu Media Ltd, on 1 May 2009, one month before it was placed in liquidation; no doubt to try and hide the financial failure being linked to the brand name “Erotica Expo Ltd” which he continues to use in breach of the Companies Act 1993.

The Complaint sent to the Commerce Commission dated 18 September states:
In an article published on Monday 14th September 2009 in the Taranaki Daily News and published on the Stuff News Website, it was reported that “Boobs on Bikes and the Erotica Lifestyles Expo are NOT coming to New Plymouth this year following a public backlash.” [Emphasis added].

Stephen Peter Crow (Steve Crow – aka “Porn King”), described as “Erotica’s owner and porn mogul”, is quoted as stating “from Auckland” the day before the report was published, that “with all the controversy we’ve been copping and all the negatives from everywhere, it’s not happening now.” The negatives highlighted in the article involve his double-crossing of RSA members. The reporter asked him why he was advertising the former RSA clubrooms as the venue for a money-making strip venue, when he’d given his word to the people of New Plymouth that it would never be used for promoting the sex industry. That promise was given to over 100 people at a Chamber of Commerce meeting and reported on in the Taranaki Daily News last month.

Boobs on Bikes and the Erotica Lifestyles Expo are not coming to New Plymouth this year following a public backlash.
“It was going to happen but with all the controversy we’ve been copping and all the negatives from everywhere, it’s not happening now,” Erotica’s owner and porn mogul Steve Crow said from Auckland yesterday.
Steve Crow and his Inglewood brother, David Crow, bought the New Plymouth and Districts RSA at Strandon and also bailed out the debt-ridden club last year.
The two are planning an extensive development for the site, named the Te Ara project.
Amid negative reaction, Steve Crow last month promised the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce that the site would not be converted into a brothel, strip club, adult shop or “anything at all to do with the sex industry”.
But Mr Crow’s Erotica lifestyles expo website advertises a three-day expo at New Plymouth’s Te Ara at 434 Devon St East for $20 a head in November. When contacted by the Taranaki Daily News yesterday, Mr Crow admitted that the expo, which would have been at Te Ara, included strip shows.
However, recent bad publicity and a public backlash from New Plymouth people have caused him to pull the pin.
“I just think it’s going to backfire if we do,” Mr Crow said.

Today Porn King company director Stephen Peter Crow (Steve Crow) registered on the Companies website a change in his residential address to 27 Northwood Avenue, Albany [North Shore City 0632], “effective 1 August 2009” . (This new director’s residential address is now listed for all four companies he directs: HWGA Co Ltd, CVC Group Ltd, Eden Digital Ltd and Vixen Publications Ltd). Steve Crow’s previous residential address was recorded as 45 Stanhope Road, Ellerslie, and amazingly all four of his cuurent registered companies plus four now in liquidation, had this same address listed as their respective registered company office for many years. Apparently all hardcore porn operations – Steve Crow’s specialty – involving distribution, production, importing, talent auditions, photo shoots etc – were being delivered for years from the comforts of his own cosy residence at 45 Stanhope Road, Ellerslie – and this from a man who tells the media he has no interest whatsoever in the XXX material that earns him a living. This is the same man who went up against the Health Minister Hon. Annette King and the Waikato Hospital Board arguing that he had a right to film a wannabe porn star “Nikki” giving birth in a public hospital and use the film footage of the baby’s birth in one of his hardcore porn films. He demanded that a tax-payer funded facilty support his porn shoot.
Albany residents will be truly transfixed to learn that the Porn King has moved all four of his porn company registered offices to 2/18b Triton Drive, Albany, [Rosedale, Auckland 0632] having moved from 45 Stanhope Rd, Ellerslie. This is huge news on a par with news that Steve Crow is funding porn star “Chelsea Charms” to bring her augmented super mammary assets to Auckland for a street porn sleaze promo erotica expo circus parade. It is stunning! A group of businessmen are furious the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce helped allow a debt-ridden man to be involved in a presentation on a major commercial development project for New Plymouth.
David Crow is the director of Buildwise Ltd, an Inglewood building company that has been placed into liquidation owing several hundred thousand dollars to at least 57 creditors, most from Taranaki. On Wednesday night he fronted up with his brother Steve at a Taranaki Chamber of Commerce function to give a presentation on multi-million dollar development plans for the New Plymouth RSA property.
The pair bought the premises for $1.9 million in July last year and are planning a $20 million commercial development called the Te Ara Complex. This has infuriated several business owners who are owed large amounts of money by Buildwise.

Porn King Steve Crow was a guest speaker at the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Business After 5 function at the New Plymouth RSA on Wednesday 26th August 2009. It appears that he failed to tell the whole truth when he told more than 100 people in attendance that the RSA Strandon Clubrooms at 435 Devon Street East, purchased by a company of which he is the major shareholder (50%) and was co-director of up until his resignation on 12 November 2008, would never be used for “anything at all to do with the sex industry”. However, since the 27th of August he has been advertising the “Te Ara Centre” (the new title he has given to the RSA Clubrooms), as the venue for his forthcoming three day Sleaze Porn Promo Show in November, which he markets as Erotica Lifestyles Expo via a website. His risible claims of honest transparency with RSA members and the business community were quoted in the Taranaki Daily News:
“Let’s firstly put a few rumours to bed, and then explain what our plans are for this beautiful site. What we are not doing is converting the place into a brothel, or a strip club, or an adult shop, or anything at all to do with the sex industry… And the Crows are also not taking all the money out of the project. Now that’s a real joke. The fact is we’ve already put a lot of money into this project, and we have committed a lot more.”
Stephen Peter Crow (Steve Crow), his brother David Bruce Crow and wife Carolyn Rose Crow, are all part of a business partnership – 435 Devon Limited (Co. No. 1951732) – that bought the RSA’s property for $1.9 million when both men were directors.

Vixen Digital Limited (Co. No. 812698) was incorporated on 31 May 1996 with “Porn King” Stephen Peter Crow (Steve Crow) and his brother David Bruce Crow as directors. It remained a registered company until it was struck off the Register of Companies on 23 January 1998. David Crow resigned as director on 26 June 1997 and the company was struck off when Steve Crow was the sole director. About ten months before it was struck off and three months before David Crow resigned, the company name was changed to “Vixen Old Ltd”. (This was no doubt an attempt to preserve the ‘integrity’ of the company name Vixen Direct Ltd).
Crow Holdings Limited (Co. No. 594846) directed by Steve Crow owned 50% of Vixen Digital Ltd shares when it was struck off and Ezisoft Computer Systems Ltd (ESC) owned the remaining 50%. ESC had two directors at the time – David Crow and his wife Carolyn Rose Crow who is a major shareholder. Vixen Digital Ltd company directors – the Crow brothers – failed to register any Annual Returns over the period that the company was registered and failed to register any Certificate of shareholder(s), based on Companies Office records.
Crow Holdings Ltd was placed into liquidation on February 2000 and struck of the register of Companies on 8 March 2001, both actions taking place when Stephen Crow was its sole director.

After the 1990 referendum when 70 percent of respondents voted for MMP Mike Moore said the people had not spoken they had screamed. What can we say about the anti smacking referendum? The people did not scream, they shrieked! The difference is that Jim Bolger listened but John Key chooses to interpret a shriek as a whimper. According to him and I quote, 1.6 million New Zealanders, “still have some concerns and want a high degree of comfort”. It is not concern or comfort Mr Key should be addressing but all those ‘No’ boxes containing a big tick.

Porn King Steve Crow was appointed co-director on 8 December 2005 of a company directed by Dermott Malley, and Linzi Frances Malley – Computer Shopper (NZ) Ltd (Co. No. 514464) – that is now in liquidation. According to the Liquidator’s Report dated 28 May 2009, it owes $163,550 to Second Ranking Preferential Creditor – the IRD – and $262,528 to over 40 unsecured creditors, with other debts yet to be assessed.
Dermott Malley and his wife were directors of the company from 14 May 1992 to 1 September 2006 and Stephen Peter Crow (Steve Crow) served with them as co-director for 11 months before becoming sole director after they resigned. Under Crow’s leadership the company became insolvent and Crow recommended to shareholders, that it be placed into liquidation on 27 May 2009. The Company is 100% owned by CVC Group Ltd (Co. No. 1738154), of which Crow is currently one of three directors and Dermott Malley is a former director (see below).

The Prime Minister acknowledged this morning on Radio Live that the current Section 59 of the Crimes Act 1961 – the so-called anti-smacking legislation promoted by Green MP Sue Bradford – is “a complete and utter dog’s breakfast”. He made this comment in an interview with Michael Laws on RadioLive at 11:40 AM today Friday, 4 September 2009.
The Rt. Hon. John Key might be very astute on financial matters but he appears to have little idea how the law should work in a true democracy. He will not be Prime Minister forever. Another government might tell the police to ignore his instructions and enforce the law as it is currently written.
